Surrey Space Institute

The Surrey Space Institute, launched in 2025 at the University of Surrey, builds on more than 40 years of leadership in satellite technology and space research.

Bringing together expertise from engineering, law, biosciences, artificial intelligence and beyond, the Institute develops solutions to global challenges, from protecting Earth’s resources and strengthening resilient space infrastructure to enabling future deep-space exploration.

Working closely with government, industry and academic partners, the Surrey Space Institute combines world-leading research, innovation and education to advance the UK space sector and develop the next generation of space professionals.
