28 October 2014 – Airbus Defence and Space will show a wide portfolio of products and solutions ranging from military transport and an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to satellite services like imagery, and secure land communication at Expodefensa 2014, which will take place 29-31 October in Bogota, Colombia.
In the military transport field the company will demonstrate its capabilities with the presence of mock-ups of a C295 medium transport aircraft and of the smaller CN235. These aircraft are in widespread service with the Colombian forces, as well as in most other countries in the region.
The 570 kg, single-engined, propeller-powered system Atlante will demonstrate technological leadership in the growing UAV market. Atlante is aimed at a wide range of military and commercial missions such as surveillance of oil pipes, powerlines, railways, natural disasters, forest fires or sporting events.
Another focus will be the company’s capabilities as the worldwide leader in Earth Observation and Telecommunications satellite systems and services. A number of countries in the region have already selected an Airbus Defence and Space solution for the achievement of their space ambitions.
Various solutions for Secure Land Communication will be presented as well. With a large customer base in 75 countries, the unique portfolio of Private Mobile Radio (PMR) products and services covers the three most widely deployed standards in the world for public safety and defence organisations (Tetra, Tetrapol and P25), as well as other mission critical market segments.
