26 September 2019 – Teams of young people aged 11-18 are being encouraged to enter the 2020 UK Youth Rocketry Challenge, which involves designing, building and launching a model rocket. It is organised by ADS and sponsored and supported by Lockheed Martin and the Royal Aeronautical Society.

The competition is particularly looking for entrants who have a strong interest in design, science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM), thrive with team problem-solving and would relish the opportunity to network with business and industry aviation leaders.

The UK winners get the opportunity to compete against teams from France, USA and Japan at the Farnborough International Airshow (23-24 July 2020), with the winning UK team and mentoring adults receive a paid trip to the Farnborough International Airshow, including accommodation, lunches in VIP chalets, and an exclusive dinner with entertainment. Teams will be fully supported through every step of the competition.

Registration closes on 28 February 2020.
