Singapore-based company NuSpace Pte. Ltd. has achieved a significant milestone with the successful launch of its IoT satellite, NuLIoN, and the deployment of Oxford Space Systems’ cutting-edge deployable helical antenna. This small CubeSat represents NuSpace’s commitment to providing large-scale sensor-to-satellite connectivity throughout Southeast Asia, enabling IoT applications anytime, anywhere. The mission is a vital step towards NuSpace’s ambitious vision of establishing a global IoT constellation.
By leveraging the proven LoRaWAN Protocol, NuSpace addresses the connectivity gap in underserved regions by offering low-power, low-data rate, direct-to-satellite communication services. This empowers the deployment of remote sensors on a large scale, bringing transformative possibilities to industries and communities.
The partnership between NuSpace and Oxford Space Systems exemplifies a close collaboration between Singapore and UK-based companies, fostering innovation and supporting the growth of the space sector through international cooperation. This collaboration demonstrates a shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology and exploring new frontiers.
Zhen Ning Ng, CEO of NuSpace, expressed their enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “Working with Oxford Space Systems has been an absolute pleasure. Their flight-proven products have been instrumental in our journey. We are genuinely thrilled about the potential of NuLIoN to revolutionise the non-terrestrial IoT connectivity industry. This mission represents a significant first step in bridging the connectivity gap, particularly in the promising Southeast Asian market. Together, we are paving the way for widespread sensor-to-satellite connectivity, unlocking new possibilities for IoT applications in the region and beyond.”
Manisha Kushwaha, Technical Project Manager at Oxford Space Systems, expressed pride in their contribution, stating, “We are proud to deliver another successful deployable helical antenna, on this occasion to NuSpace, and to contribute to NuSpace’s ambition to provide connectivity across the Southeast Asia region. This mission gives further heritage to our helical antennas’ product line as we transition to high quality batch production at our Harwell and Abingdon facilities.”
