New technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, augmented and virtual reality, blockchain, miniaturisation of sensors, real time data and the proliferation of earth observation data are impacting the geospatial sector in a way not seen before. Because of this, the KTN has set up a Geospatial Insights SIG to help stimulate cross-sector innovation in the geospatial community and help UK companies create groundbreaking products and services. In the coming month, there will be a series of workshops focussed on developing new applications for sectors such as infrastructure, finance, agri-food, transport and health providing them with new insights derived from geospatial data. This includes a Geospatial Challenge Workshop at the UK Space Conference (24-26 Sept 2019). There will also be events bringing together the geospatial community with the latest advances in new technologies. The KTN will be opening its doors for the whole day if you are unable to make the breakfast launch please pop into the workshop room on the top floor of the Business Design Centre any time on 22 May.
