Tim Peake (Credit UK Space Agency)13 October 2015 – As part of Tim Peake’s Principia mission, the UK Space Agency is funding I’m an Astronaut, Get me out of here, an online activity where school students from all over the UK get to talk to the Astro Support Team: the people behind human space missions.

Members of UKSpace are invited to apply now to be part of the Astro Support Team in December’s Launch Zone!

From 7-18 December, as a member of the Team you answer questions posted online by school students, and engage directly with them in live text-based chats alongside four other Team members. The students then vote for their favourite Astro Support Team member to win the Zone. The winner who has the most votes across all four zones will receive £500 to use for engagement with the public! Winners will also be part of a live chat with Tim Peake and schools in the summer.

To see a zone for yourself, check out the current Training Zone, running until Friday 16 October, at training.imanastronaut.ukwhere RAL Space engineer Tom Morse of the Astro Support Team is answering questions like “How does it feel to send something you made into space?”

I’m an Astronaut is a unique and exciting way to develop your communication skills, gain a fresh perspective on your work, and show students the huge variety of space-related careers out there.

Everything in the activity happens online at imanastronaut.uk so you can do all this from your laptop at work, from your phone on the train, or from anywhere in between!
