Space Zone at Farnborough 20142 March 2016 – The Space Zone at the Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) 2016 looks set to be another success with a brand new layout and a number of key exhibitors already confirmed for the show. The layout will see the UK Space Agency, ESA, Airbus Space and Defence and a number of other exhibitors positioned around a central forum allowing for even better networking opportunities for exhibitors and visitors alike.

Building on previous successes at the show, Space Day will take place on Tuesday 12 July when speakers from Government, space agencies and industry will be welcomed to the Zone. The UK Space Agency and UKspace plans to bring up to 20 exhibitors including SMEs under the joint banner.

Speaking about the Space Zone, Matt Goodman, Head of Communications at the UK Space Agency and co-chair of the Space Zone Organising Committee said, “The Farnborough International Airshow is one of the biggest showcases for our UK space industry. We have so much to offer as a sector – from leadership in small satellites, components, application development –Opportunities like Farnborough help to tell that story to the wider world. We need to get on the front foot for exports if we are going to achieve our aim of growing the industry’s turnover to £40billion by 2030.”

Heading up the Space Zone at FIL, Business Development Manager, John Minassian, further added “The Space Zone at the Farnborough International Airshow is growing from strength to strength as is the space sector itself. We have already confirmed participation from the UK Space Agency, Airbus Space and Defence, ESA, Lockheed Martin Space Systems, Euclid Satellites, The Italian Space Agency (ASI), Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd and Qinetiq, and hope to welcome some additional new exhibitors to the show next July.”

There are still packages available for UKspace members to be a part of the wider UK pavilion in the Space Zone at Farnborough.
