Representatives from the UK's space community give evidence to the Science and Technology Committee at the House of Commons.12 June 2013 – Representatives from the UK’s space academic community and industry, including Richard Peckham, immediate past Chairman of UKspace, today gave evidence to the Science and Technology Committee at the House of Commons.

The session focused on the work of the European and UK space agencies.

In addition to Richard Peckham, other speakers included Professor David Southwood, Senior Research Investigator, Imperial College London and President, Royal Astronomical Society; Professor Alan Smith, Director, Mullard Space Science Laboratory, University College London; Professor Shaun Quegan, University of Sheffield, appearing on behalf of Natural Environment Research Council; Professor Richard Holdaway, Director, RAL Space, on behalf of Science and Technology Facilities Council; John Auburn, Vice President European Space Institutions, Telespazio VEGA UK Ltd; and Dr Hugh Lewis, University of Southampton, appearing on behalf of PHS Space Ltd.
