Meridian Space Command
Meridian Space Command (‘Meridian’), based at Space Park Leicester, UK, accelerates space innovation in a three-part process: Innovate, Incubate and Expedite.
In the Innovation phase, Meridian creates cutting-edge space tech. Key projects include:
- Optimal – a software toolkit for mission conception and platform design, leveraging AI & ML for fine-tuning optimisations
- Beacon – a project involving cubesat-landers for lunar environment ground-truthing.
- Centaur – a humanoid robot’s upper half, optimising the synergy between robotic and human operations in-space.
The Incubation phase bridges the gap from early-stage projects to mission fulfilment. Meridian provides qualitative and quantitative analysis of space products, services, or mission concepts, ideal for projects at TRL 0-3. It also offers End-2-End Mission Fulfilment in partnership with Service Partners, best suited for Technology Demonstration missions raising TRL from 3 to 7. This phase also includes Mission Education, coupling space mission services with professional education and mentorship.
The Expedition phase focuses on developing rapid-response spacecraft for urgent missions. Key offerings include the Rapid Transfer Vehicle(RTV), optimised for speed, simplicity, then cost, designed to deliver payloads to target orbits between LEO and LLO quickly.
This three-part process ensures Meridian is positioned at the forefront of space innovation, committed to elevating UK & Global newspace endeavours.
