30 July 2014 – On behalf of the UK Space Agency, the Centre for Earth Observation Instrumentation and Space Technology is pleased to announce that the 2nd NSTP Call for space technology proposals is now open for bids. We invite proposals for Technology Fast Track and Pathfinder projects and the Call includes a new opportunity to bid for Grants for Exploratory Ideas. The total budget available for projects to be funded through this Call is £3m.
The Call aims to develop the growth of the UK space sector as embodied in the Space Innovation and Growth Strategy. Proposals are sought for space technology research and development projects that should align with the National Space Technology Strategy and the related technology roadmaps covering the 5 main themes; telecommunications; sensing; position, navigation and timing; exploration and robotics; and access to space.
The timescale is:
- Notification of Intention to Bid (Fast Track and Pathfinder proposals) 21 August 2014 (noon)
- Closing Date (Grants for Exploratory Ideas) 27 August 2014 (noon)
- Closing date (Fast Track and Pathfinder proposals) 23 September 2014 (noon)
Bidders should provide CEOI-ST with notification of their intention to bid into this call (Technology Fast Track and Pathfinder projects only) by 12.00 noon on 21 August 2014, as described in the Announcement of Opportunity (AofO) document.
Proposal selection will take place during October 2014, with projects starting after 1 November 2014.
