OneWeb
OneWeb’s mission is to enable affordable Internet access for everyone, to connect every unconnected school, and to bridge the digital divide by 2027. OneWeb is building a global communications network, with a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites, that will provide connectivity to billions of people around the world. It will transparently extend the networks of mobile operators and Internet service providers to serve new coverage areas, bringing voice and data access to consumers, businesses, schools, healthcare institutions and other end users. Our initial constellation will bring more than 7 Terabits per second of needed capacity to the world’s unserved.
While the cities and suburbs of developed countries have broadband access, over 50% of the world, including remote areas across Europe, Asia, and North America remain without reliable high-speed connectivity. The impact in emerging markets is even greater, where many are without access even at their schools or community centres. Internet access is critical for digital government, health, and education and OneWeb is committed to enabling this access everywhere.
Headquartered in the UK, OneWeb is in the process of adding additional entities into its corporate structure to support expanded operations and industrial development throughout the UK. It works with a world class group of partners and shareholders, as well as a broad supplier base throughout the UK, US, Canada, and elsewhere.
