14 June 2016 – The Institute for Environmental Analytics (IEA) has announced a new collaborative relationship with CGI, one of the largest global IT services providers.
CGI’s pan-European space team provides ground systems for processing Earth Observation and weather satellite data, and services exploiting EO data for applications from forestry and agriculture to climate and insurance.
Colin McKinnon, CEO of the IEA, welcomed the relationship saying: “CGI are a major player in the global IT market and have wide ranging experience in Earth Observation and developing new systems and applications.”
Andy Thompson, Director, Earth Observation and Sat Comms, at CGI, said: “We are delighted to be joining the Institute for Environmental Analytics. We look forward to working together to exploit environmental data from space and terrestrial sources to develop more information services for commercial and Government end users.”
The IEA works closely with a wide range of strategic collaborators and Partners from the public and private sectors that span all aspects of the environmental analytics supply chain – from the development of the underlying scientific research through the provision of high performance computing and remote sensing to operational data applications and services.
