31 August 2016 – Two new tender opportunities relating to the space community have been published under Horizon 2020, the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available between 2014 and 2020.
Call for Tenders (CFT) related to Mission and Services R&D Actions under H2020 have been published: EDAS service analysis
The scope is to analyse which kinds of products and/or services can be provided to EGNOS users via broadcast means different from the GEO satellites considering the time-frame 2020–2030. The analysis shall start from a review of the current EGNOS data access service (EDAS) and define which new key elements would generate attractive new EDAS services for users or for added value service providers. Cost-benefit analyses shall also be carried out in order to have enough material to take an informed decision about the implementation of new/evolved EDAS features.
The e-tendering documents can be found here.
A H2020 project has been published under the EC-ESA Delegation Agreement for EGNSS (HSNAV): H2020 WP15 H008 – G2G Test User Receiver Technologies Framework
This framework will initiate technology developments and bread-boarding at Test User Receiver level to account for potential System Evolutions and to assess their feasibility and risks in support to Galileo 2nd Generation. Activities include trends in user receiver technology and its impact on System Evolution, improvements on signal robustness, additional signal flexibility and early validation and demonstration of evolutions. This framework covers two activity domains: Non-PRS and PRS.
The invitation to tender is available on the ESA EMITS website reference 8662.
