SUMMARY:Engaging with MOD Innovation and Funding
DESCRIPTION:This in-person conference will help attendees to better understand the MOD procurement processes\, as well as other sources of funding and support available for innovation across a wide range of technology fields within Defence and Security. SMEs can also gain insights and advice to assist them in entering the Defence and Security supply chain. \nOne specific field to be addressed is the use of digital technology to enhance Command Capability\, in what is known as “the cognitive domain”. This involves both improving our capability and degrading that of potential aggressors. \nThe event is hosted by Defence and Security Oxford Brookes University (DASOBU)\, a leading research organisation in shaping the human dimension of defence and security capability. \nSenior speakers from MOD Defence Innovation\, DASA\, Dstl\, DE&S\, Oxford Brookes\, one or more front line commands and others will cover the following topics: \n\nHow the MOD promotes and funds innovation and research\nScience and technology priorities and funding options across Defence\nEmerging requirements in information warfare and influence operations\nTechnologies that support improved decision making\, deception and simulation\n\nTickets are limited to the first 100 people who register via the link below.

DESCRIPTION:UK Space Command’s Defence Space Conference is the leading platform for all those who seek to influence and play a role in the development and operation of the UK’s military space capabilities. UKspace is proud to be one of the event sponsors. \nDefence Space Conference brings together senior UK military and government officials\, space commanders from international space partners and allies and leaders in disruptive technologies\, including the space SME and technology start-up communities. Defence Space coheres military space strategy and operations with space technology and innovation. \nThe conference programme is led by UK Space Command\, the Ministry of Defence’s lead for space operations\, space workforce and space capability\, in partnership with Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S). DESCRIPTION:This is the UK’s first space skills conference\, organised by Space Skills Alliance and SpaceCareers.uk. It will be hosted by Viasat. \nThe Space Skills Summit will feature a mix of presentations\, discussions and practical workshops on a wide range of skills topics such as: \n\nBetter aligning education and training with employers’ needs\nAttracting people from outside the sector\nRecruiting fairly and effectively\nSupporting student competitions and projects\nTaking on apprentices and graduates\nLearning from other sectors\n\nWho should attend?\nThis conference is for anyone in the space industry involved in recruitment\, training\, retention\, diversity\, outreach and other skills topics.
