The Rural Broadband Debate; Reaching the last few %.

10th June 2014 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

This debate looks at government policy and asks a range of experts from the fibre, wireless and satellite industries how best to reach the rural population, looking at both policy and technical issues. As “superfast” broadband is being rolled out across the country, there are still some areas without dial-up or a very slow DSL. This debate will look at how to reach the last few % of the country with a reasonable broadband service at a reasonable price and if there is a greater role for satellites? Panellists include:

  • Chi Onwurah, MP for Newcastle and Shadow
  • Cabinet Office Minister
  • Matt Yardley, Analysys Mason
  • Gary Miller, BT
  • Kumar Singarajah, Avanti Communications
  • Matthew Braovac, Vodafone
  • Steve Petrie, Eutelsat
