STARMUS space science outreach festival

UKspace member companies are invited to attend the next STARMUS space science outreach festival between 27 June and 2 July 2016 in Tenerife, at which Professor Stephen Hawking will be the guest of honour. Following two ground-breaking editions in 2011 and 2014, which gathered together some of the most important members of the space community such as Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, the programme for Starmus III will feature a stellar line-up of speakers. 12 Nobel Prize winners from a range of disciplines, a host of internationally recognised scientists (Kip Thorne, Martin Rees, and Brian Cox are confirmed), billionaire businessman Eugene Kaspersky, and six astronauts/cosmonauts will be giving talks under the headline ‘BEYOND THE HORIZON’. Entertainment is to be provided by concerts from astrophysicist Dr Brian May of ‘Queen’ fame, and Hans Zimmer (who wrote the score for the recent movie ‘Interstellar’). Starmus has also launched a ground-breaking new award for science communication which will be presented at the 2016 Festival, ‘The Stephen Hawking Medal for Science Communication’. For any smaller companies, or those in the early stages of growth, we can offer exhibition stands at which representatives can market themselves to attendees for £10,000 over the course of the festival.
