Further information and registration News: SpaceCom Announces Shell CTO Yuri Sebregts as an Energy Innovation Keynote 19 June 2015 – SpaceCom, the Space Commerce Conference and Exposition, today announced that Dr Yuri Sebregts, executive vice president innovation and R&D and chief technology officer at Royal Dutch Shell will offer a keynote address to conference attendees on Wednesday, November 18 in Houston. Yuri will focus on “The Innovation Challenge: Accelerating the Take-Off of Technology.” His keynote will explain how Shell’s global innovation has evolved through programs like GameChanger and the company is tapping into some of the brightest minds and technologies in academia, industry (aerospace, medical or gaming) and government to accelerate growth. “SpaceCom is distinctly focused on the application of space technologies to fuel business innovation across vital market segments,” said James Causey, executive director of SpaceCom. “Yuri will truly bring our program content to life with his insights into how Shell has embraced and implemented innovative technologies to advance their core business (and the energy sector as a whole). Attendees across all market sectors will walk away with actionable insights into real-world applications that can benefit their own industries.” Yuri Sebregts was appointed as Executive Vice President Innovation and R&D in January 2015. His role is to ensure that Shell develops and deploys technologies and services to deliver projects and new products across the world faster and more economically. He was also appointed as Chief Technology Officer, making him responsible for the technology strategy at Shell. He has held several technical and managerial positions and worked on a number of international assignments in Shell’s Chemicals, Refining and Lubricants businesses.
