Reinventing Space Conference 2022

28th November 2022 - 29th November 2022

The Reinventing Space conference and exhibition is organised by the British Interplanetary Society, bringing together industry, agency, government, financiers, academia and end-users. This year’s theme is ‘Strategic Foundations for New Space’.

As the transition to the commercially-led exploitation of space continues, there is an increasing emphasis on the need for sustainable space logistics. Applications including satellite servicing, debris removal and in-situ resource utilisation are expected to become increasingly important elements of the space economy as constellation operators seek to maximise their return on investment and protect their assets from a range of hazards.

This year’s conference runs across two consecutive days focused on:

  • Day 1 – Strategic Foundations – key enablers, emerging capabilities, technologies/systems, services and infrastructure that form the ‘building blocks’ for New Space.
  • Day 2 – Space Energy Applications – opportunities and challenges for providing and harnessing energy in space for in-space or terrestrial power applications.

On 29 November, a parallel Student/Careers Day will also take place run by the BIS NextGen Network and UKSEDS, supporting our future generation. On the evening of 29 November, RISpace is honoured to be hosting the Sir Arthur Clarke Awards and Gala dinner.
