Workshop Objectives Several funding mechanisms already exist nationally or via the EU and the European Space Agency. While these, for the most part focus on using existing capacity, new initiatives have been set-up to offer regular opportunities for service and technology demonstration in space. Innovate UK has created the In-Orbit Demonstration (IOD) Programme, delivered by the Satellite Applications Catapult, while the European Space Agency has published an “Announcement of Opportunity” for Pioneer, both of which aim to lower the barriers to entry and stimulate new in-orbit test missions for innovative applications and services. This workshop seeks to establish the obstacles across the value chain in trialling new products and services, and how demonstrating in-orbit can remove them and open up new opportunities. We would welcome input from across the community particularly service and access to space providers, operators, ground system solution providers but also hardware manufacturers. Outputs from the day will be used to inform the UK’s strategy around Demonstration in Space and shape existing and future programmes. There will be opportunities for networking and an afternoon session on consortia building. Click here to view the agenda Click here to register ]]>
